HOW OFTEN SHOULD I BE BRUSHING MY DOG?

Once a day using a brush and metal comb. Always make sure to brush your dog all over after they've worn a harness or coat too!

MY DOG HAS SENSITIVE/ITCHY/SMELLY SKIN!

At the salon we stock a wide range of natural dog shampoos that are specifically designed to be used on different coat/skin types. The shampoos we use all provide a deep clean to remove any dirt and impurities from the fur and skin, without stripping it of the natural oils.

If you dog has specific vet prescribed shampoo, or if you'd like us to use your own shampoo you're more than welcome to bring it with you on the day - we just ask that you sign a disclaimer on the day!

HOW DOES THE ULTRA-SONIC TEETH CLEANING WORK?

We use the patented Emmi-Pet Ultra-sonic pet toothbrush which sits on your dogs teeth and gums to break down plaque and tartar build-up and reduce staining.

The toothbrush uses ultra-sonic waves to react with the specially designed toothpaste to create millions of nanobubbles which continually create and implode which removes impurities such as germs, bacteria and softens plaque build up on the tooth.

The treatment is less invasive than a clean at the vets as your dog doesn't need to be sedated, and the toothbrush itself is noiseless and doesn't make any vibrations, which can be a huge relief for dogs who don't like the action of scrubbing on their teeth, or the noise of other pet toothbrushes on the market.

Oral health is super important for your dog, did you know that over 80% of dogs already show signs of dental disease around the age of two!

Our sessions will help to effectively clean your dogs teeth to prevent plaque or tartar formation and look after their gum health.

MY DOG IS NERVOUS/ANXIOUS OF OTHER DOGS

As we're a busy grooming salon there are often multiple dogs in the salon at once. We do however offer 1:1 appointments if your dog does require this. Please send us a message to enquire.

WHAT TOOLS SHOULD I BE USING TO BRUSH MY DOG?

Each dog will have brushes and tools that will work best for them! Please message us and we'll be more than happy to advise which types of brushes etc. you should be using.

WHAT BREEDS DO YOU GROOM?

We can groom and have experience grooming all breeds, so don't worry, your pup is in safe hands! If you have any queries or questions drop us a message and we'll be happy to discuss any specifics with you

DO YOU TRIM NAILS?

We check all dog's nails and trim them if needed as part of their full grooms. We also do nail trimming as a stand alone service for £12.00, just message us to book in.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD MY DOG BE GROOMED?

We recommend a grooming schedule of between 4-6 weeks for wool coated breeds and wool mix breeds, 6-8 weeks for silk coats, wire coats and double coated breeds.

HOW OLD DOES MY PUPPY NEED TO BE BEFORE THEY'RE GROOMED?

Puppies should be introduced to grooming from as young as possible. We do puppy grooms as soon as your pup has had their full course of vaccinations and the all clear from the vet. Puppy Grooms help to introduce them to grooming in a safe and positive way to prepare them for the future. It's a general rule of thumb that their coat shouldn't be fully groomed until they're 6 months old, but we will let you know once your pup is ready for it's full groom, which could be as early as 4-5 months. We highly recommend NOT waiting until they're 6 months to take them to a groomers. Puppy grooms will help to prepare your pup for his/her first full groom, as well as maintain the coat and remove knots etc.
